| PDL 1000, A TOOL FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW. Sun’s PDL 1000 is an interchangeable cartridge-based system, designed to enable the operator to communicate with multiple on-board vehicle computer applications. Not only able to read and reset trouble codes but also capture live data, live sensor readings etc. Even tuning adjustments, e.g. CO on Rover systems are possible with the PDL 1000. Depending on the vehicle’s ECU and primary cardridge, communication is possible with not only engine management systems but also with automatic transmissions, airbags, ABS, air conditioning systems, instrument panels and more. The manufacturer-specific primary cartridges will display tests and data that are applicable to each specific vehicle. It retrieves information from the vehicle’s computer, it does not test the vehicle itself! A powerful extension of the PDL 1000 is the manufacturer-specific troubleshooter cartridge. Based on technicians’ experience, it can quickly lead you to the problem area without having to go through the complete system. This will help you solving problems which may not even be detected by the vehicle’s on-board computer system. |
| PDL 1000, A UNIQUE CONCEPT. This Portable Data Link provides you with the most powerful diagnostic capabilities available. Using the vehicle specific diagnostic adapter, communication is possible with the vehicles ECU. An actuator test can be performed to test each component e.g. injectors. With a separate multimeter or scope connected to that component, the complete component circuit can be checked. |

| SERIAL CONNECTION FOR DISPLAYING DATA OR MAKING PRINTOUTS. SCAN GRA-FIX; link your PDL 1000 with a PC or engine analyser. Connect the PDL 1000, via serial connection, to a PC with “Scan Gra-Fix” software installed and it is possible to display, analyse, save and print live vehicle data, or previously-saved data. It is possible to display all measurements on an external monitor located elsewhere. A printer can also be hooked-up to the serial connection. With the unique feature “Glitch Snitch” it is possible to display the most suspected parameters first. |
| ROAD TESTS can be performed with the PDL 1000. With the movie function, data can be stored to find the typical driveability problems which occur only when driving on e.g. bumpy roads. By using this movie function, road testing could be done by the driver himself, without a passenger. |

PDL 1000, THE COMPLETE PACKAGE. Because the PDL 1000’s communication hardware and software is contained in the cartridges rather then the main unit, obsolescence is not a problem.
